What Severe Weather events should be reported to the National Weather Service?
  • Tornado or funnel clouds.
  • Wall clouds should also be reported(no matter if it's rotating or not)
  • Strong winds (55-60 MPH or greater) or wind damage (structural damage or trees/power lines down)
  • Hail the size of pennies (3/4 inch diameter) or larger
  • Stream flooding, street flooding, or streams approaching bankfull

When Calling in a report, Keep it Short and to the point.
They recieve alot of reports from various people at different times.

Always Act professional When you call in a report. If you sound credible they will take you seriously.

  • What you observed/observing
  • is it still happening
  • Any Damage or injuries to report
